The Beach Boys are an American rock group famous for songs about surfing in California, cars, and love. The band began perfecting their rich vocal harmonies in 1961 in Hawthorne, California. Carl, Dennis, and Brian Wilson, in partnership with their friend Al Jardine and cousin Mike Love, rose to international fame in the mid-1960s with a run of hit songs:
- Surfin USA 1963
- I Get Around 1964
- Fun, Fun, Fun 1964
- Help Me Rhonda 1965
- California Girls 1965
Most of their songs developed naturally from their ideal adolescence and California lifestyle. The sound and style of the group helped define the music industry of the time.
