Jack Kennedy was the junior senator from Massachusetts – a handsome young man, who had inherited the Kennedy family’s political ambitions when his older brother Joe was killed in World War II. Kennedy’s bride, Jacqueline Bouvier, was one of America’s most beautiful debutantes. She had worked as an inquiring photographer for the Washington Times Herald, and had met Jack the year before at a Washington dinner party. Their wedding was the social event of the year.
