Born Patricia Andrzejewski, Pat Benatar reigned supreme as the most famous solo female rocker in the US and maybe worldwide in the 1980s. Pat came from humble beginnings in Long Island, New York. Her mom was a cosmetologist and her dad was a sheet metal worker. During the lean years, she worked at a bank and a Friendly’s restaurant and practiced her vocals with dedication. Pat was discovered at the “Catch A Rising Star” club after singing in New York during the late 70s and soon had a major record label deal in 1978 with Chrysalis Records.
