Pay-Per-Click Advertising for Voice Over
What is Pay-Per-Click Advertising
Pay-Per-Click Advertising (PPC) is a way for you to have your ad and website shown to anyone who does a search for a keyword/phrase you are bidding on. The reason it is called “Pay-Per-Click”, is because you don’t pay when your website is displayed, you are only charged when someone actually clicks on your site. You simply choose an amount you are willing to bid for a specific keyword and a daily total budget. i.e. $3 for “Female Voice Talent” and a daily budget of $30.
The main PPC Advertising platform we work with is Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords). This is because they have by far the largest market share, which means more exposure for you.
Example
Let’s say a user does a Google search for “Female Voice Talent”, assuming your budget hasn’t run out for the day, and you are one of the top 10 bidders (there are approximately 10 spaces on the front page of Google), then your ad will be displayed in one of the orange positions outlined in the following diagram. You won’t be charged unless the user clicks on your website.
Why a Voice Actor Might Want to Use PPC Ads
Using a PPC advertising campaign can be one of the most targeted and effective marketing strategies to place yourself directly in front of the exact people who want your services. A PPC campaign allows you to dictate the specific keywords your website will show up for in Google. A campaign can be timed for certain times and days of the week. This combined with geographic targeting, gives you the power to reach your audience right now, or whenever, wherever they are.
