This film is going to be a 10 minute educational and entertaining story about the history of hemp through the ages up until the point of prohibition at the turn of the century with the great migration. The story will also highlight the uses of the plant through the ages as a medicine and textile:
Up until recent times, the plant was regarded as public enemy number 1. Consuming it carried a jail sentence and unfortunately still does in some parts of the world. Hemp wasn’t always considered a public menace, a drug for stoners, hippies or devil worshipers.
Archeological evidence shows that the plant use dates back over 10,000 years across many cultures. Some evidence shows hemp rope in Taiwan was found in pottery artifacts around 8000 BC, ancient civilizations soon discovered its medicinal values as well.
