My dear Wormwood,
Don’t you think you are being a bit naive? I understand your viewpoint on guiding your patient away from materialistic friends, but it seems like you are actually trying to steer him away from the Enemy. If he had lived a few centuries ago, he would have held the views of others when a thing was proved real or not. Then thinking and doing was a logical chain of reasoning resulting in life alterations. The weekly press and other media weapons have changed things, allowing your man to carry a dozen contradicting philosophies in his head at the same time. True or false doctrines are not primary. Rather things are academic, contemporary, practical, ruthless, or conventional. These labels help keep him away from the church. Materialism should not be promoted as truth. Instead, lead him to believe courage and strength are the philosophies of the future.
